Bowers Event Information

Somers Lacrosse Association (CT) is proud to host the 37th annual Paul Bowers Memorial Lacrosse Tournament for youth players from all over the Northeast region. We expect approximately 160 teams to participate in this tournament and have an outstanding event planned! The information outlined here includes all of the details you should need.

*Please share these details in advance with your parents and players.*

• Pets are not allowed on the premises or around the playing fields. Please plan accordingly for the care of your animals. State Police and Animal Control will be patrolling the grounds.
• NO grills allowed.
• Please use caution when crossing any of the streets. Traffic can be busy on main roads as well as within the complex.
• Please look for designated trash drop off areas.
• There is plenty of FREE parking through the school complex and we recommend utilizing those areas. Please be aware that anyone charging for parking is not affiliated with the Tournament or Somers Lacrosse Association.

• Please download the TOURNEY MACHINE app on your smartphone and search for the Paul Bowers Memorial Lacrosse Tournament.

• Each team will play 4 games. Games are 25 minute running time, with start and end times based on a universal horn. There are 5 minute intermissions between games.

*Important* - Sometimes unforeseen changes occur last minute with the game schedules. Please check Tourney Machine ON THE MORNING of your event to ensure you have the final schedule.

With the large number of teams and various spectators coming to the tournament, traffic and parking can be heavy. State Troopers will be assisted by a staff of volunteers to help direct traffic, as well as provide participants with directions and assistance where needed. We ask for complete cooperation in order to ensure everyone's safety.

• Please plan to arrive early. Traffic is especially busy between the hours of 7:30/8 and 12/12:30 - 1 pm.
• There is NO parking and NO 'drop off' allowed along Ninth District Road.
• Team tents and equipment will need to be carried from parking areas.
• DO NOT PARK in 'No Parking Areas' or Fire Lanes.
• DO NOT PARK on any of the streets.
• DO NOT PARK on any grass areas unless specifically directed to do so.
• There is Handicap parking available.
• State Police will be monitoring and cars will be towed if necessary.

Food Trucks will be available with a variety of options for purchase. Be sure to check out the other vendors with equipment and clothing available.
